and the duke of zhou spat14 out his meal,
an empire's trust to keep.
as * * finished, liu fu, an imperial inspector15, pointed16 out ominous17（不吉利的） words in the ode. * *, already drunk at that time, pierced liu fu through with his spear, killing18 him. lin fu's words were proved later in the battle at chi*, where * * almost lost his life.
